We are looking for a competent and passionate Sustainable Transportation Coordinator with the Community Development, Engineering & Transportation Services.
Key Duties and Responsibilities (more details in link above) :
- Provides leadership in the development and implementation of strategic Transportation Demand Management (TDM) and Transit Oriented Development (TOD) programs and initiatives for the City of Cambridge; develops annual TDM Strategy and work plans.
- Advocates the benefits of sustainable and active transportation in the community and pursues participation in programs and initiatives.
- Develops and maintains partnerships with local, regional, provincial, federal agencies, employers and private organizations related to TDM and TOD initiatives; liaises with various committees such the Cambridge Cycling Focus Group.
- Provides professional and technical advice and input to increase transit ridership, use of active transportation and TDM measures, including addressing challenges in accommodating active transportation such as walking and cycling and transit within road right-of-way and roadway operations.
- Provides professional input to development review process to facilitate and incorporate TDM supportive measures in new development; and ensures land use changes are consistent and conducive to achieve TDM and TOD objectives.
- Promotes, plans, manages, and further expands the Cambridge Cycling Master Plan including identifying specific initiatives to promote cycling in Cambridge; promotes and coordinates the Transportation Management Association (Travel Wise) for the City of Cambridge; supports TDM initiatives focused school travel planning in Cambridge.
- Prepares reports and grant applications, monitors budgets and identifies funding opportunities.
- Develops policies, guidelines, and standards consistent with TDM and TOD objectives for the City’s Official Plan, Transportation Master Plan and other appropriate design standards.
