The OTC’s 2nd annual Vision Zero Symposium will take place in-person June 22nd at the Holiday Inn Sudbury and virtually at your home or work office via Zoom. This year, we have invited the Canadian Association of Road Safety Professionals to partner with us to add perspective and role diversity and to broaden relationships and networks. OTC members may also participate in the CARSP conference June 19–21 also at the Holiday Inn Sudbury or virtually by using the OTC member code (CARSP22-M100) to get $100 off the conference registration fee*.

The goal of the Symposium is to share information about the history and underlying principles of Vision Zero and how they are applied in a multidisciplinary way. Participants will share practical examples of successful Vision Zero programs and lessons learned. We will also share valuable resources to support Vision Zero work. Delegates will be given an opportunity to action knowledge and experience working thought real-life case studies with those from other disciplines within a small group setting. The Symposium will also provide participants with an excellent opportunity to network both with seasoned Vision Zero experts add those who are growing in their Vision Zero knowledge and experience.



Intended Audience:
This symposium is intended for road safety professionals, from a variety of disciplines (e.g., Public Health, Engineering, Transportation, Enforcement, Psychology and Epidemiology) who are working to improve road safety.  Workplaces include, but are not limited to: Government (Federal, provincial, and local); Police/Enforcement (Federal, provincial, and local); University/college (including students); Non-Profit Safety Organizations; Private Consultants; and Research Agencies.

*CARSP Conference 2022: “Collaborating on the UN Decade of Action for Road Safety”, Sudbury, ON, June 19-21, 2022

The Canadian Association of Road Safety Professionals (CARSP) invites you to join us for a hybrid conference with sessions in-person, streamed, and/or recorded.  The conference theme, “Collaborating on the UN Decade of Action for Road Safety” was chosen to emphasize the importance of a holistic approach to road safety and calls on the continued implementation of the Safe Systems Approach, leveraging co-benefits of other Sustainable Development Goals, and ensuring shared responsibility among all actors to achieve road safety objectives.  The conference plenary sessions will focus on the theme and other priority road safety issues such as Speed Management, Rural Road Safety, Vulnerable Road Users (including Active Transportation), and Traffic Safety Culture.  The abstract presentation sessions will explore a multitude of road safety topics.   The conference is aimed at road safety practitioners from many disciplines, including, but not limited to:  health professionals, engineers, government officials, crash re-constructionists, insurers, researchers, and enforcement personnel.  While their approaches vary, these professionals all share the same goal: to make our roads safer.  Conference registration and Preliminary Program now posted!  Don’t miss a conference update by subscribing to our mailing list!

  1. If a registrant is unable to attend the Symposium for any reason they may substitute, by arrangement with the registrar, a designate.
  2. Where the registrant is unable to attend and is unable to transfer his/her place to another person, then he/she must contact the registrar in writing (via post or e-mail) and the following refund arrangements apply based on the postmarked or electronic date of correspondence:
    • In-person and virtual registrations canceled on or before June 11th, 2022 will be refunded 100% of the registration fees.
    • Student in-person registrations canceled on or before June 11th, 2022 will be refunded 100% of the registration fees.
    • No refunds will be given to registrants (in-person or virtual) who cancel after June 11, 2022
  3. To cancel accommodation, the registrant must contact the hotel directly and will be subject to the hotel’s cancellation policy.
  4. Any refund due will be made in Canadian funds within 30 days of the confirmation that a refund is due.
