The Traffic Officers Course is the result of a training partnership between the Ontario Traffic Council and the Ontario Police College.  This course is primarily intended for traffic supervisors and traffic / patrol officers assigned to dedicated traffic duties.

Participants will attend joint group sessions with technical traffic engineers on specific topics that are relevant to both groups.  Theses sessions are designed to enhance collaboration and information sharing.

The 2023 edition of the course will include a variety of topics including managing traffic – related risk and special events planning, a review of impaired operation, drive suspended/prohibited, and conveyance related cannabis offences.  There will be updates to commercial vehicle safety and towing compliance as well as vehicle stop search and seizure, and traffic related Proceeds of Crime. The course also features updates on stunt driving, sport motorcycles, police vehicle operations and frontline considerations for reconstruction level collision investigation.

(includes coffee breaks, lunch, HTA Manual and Short Form Wording Book). All students will be responsible for their own dinners.

**Registration fee is not inclusive of accommodation. The course will be hosted in-person at Ontario Police College in Aylmer. Overnight accommodations are available directly through Ontario Police College with special pricing to be updated here.

CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY –
OTC’s cancellation policy has been amended temporarily to provide flexibility for in-person events due to COVID-19.

  • Should a registrant decide to cancel attendance at an in-person event based on concerns around health or travel during the COVID-19 situation, or cancel attendance to an online event, OTC will provide a credit to the registrant. Rescheduling to another event will be charged an admin fee of $75. Substitutions within 2 business days at no cost.
  • If a registrant would like to cancel and require a refund, the registration fee less 50% will be refunded.
  • If OTC must cancel an event, a full refund will be issued to registrants.
