Heide graduated from the Transportation Engineering Technology program at Mohawk College in 1990. Immediately after graduating, Heide became employed as a Traffic Technician within the City of Mississauga’s Transportation and Works Department.
Heide gained valuable traffic operations experience during her time at the City of Mississauga. In July 2002, Heide left the City Mississauga and joined the Town of Milton as Coordinator Traffic & Transit.
Heide was instrumental in setting up a fixed transit service in Milton. In 2004, Heide then took over Parking Enforcement and now the Coordinator of Traffic and Parking which encompasses Traffic Operations & Engineering, Traffic Signals, Streetlighting and Parking Enforcement.
Heide is also actively involved in International Municipal Signal Association as the 2nd Vice-Present and also sits on the Traffic Operations and Management Standing committee of Transportation Association of Canada as a Chair’s Appointee.
